Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Calm the F Down Everyone.

Okay. Lemon writers of Hetalia, you should have saw this coming. Most of them were violation of the rules, so lemons in general are time bombs on this website with the rules. Yes, technically the art on the front page could qualify, but stop comparing. Remember when you were little and if someone got away with something, you copied and got caught? You probably said somethings along the lines of 'Well so-and-so did that'. I tried that once, my parents told me that 'So-and-so didn't get caught.' Grow up.
 Second, we don't need to go pushing blame on everyone. Go look at the person most of us are blaming, ev0net, and look at the comments on their profile. I dare you to. Most of them are people saying 'Don't report people's lemons.' One person actually tried to stand up for ev0net, and they got attacked with things like 'One of those people was a friend of mine who had her entry deleted' or 'How would you like to have YOUR hard work deleted?' I know not all of us are Americans on the internet, but some of you people are. Does 'Innocent tell proven guilty' ring in bells?
 What we know is that it has to do with :iconxcreativepoppet:'s lemon contest, and that the person probably lost. Who ever they are started reporting random lemons to cover their tracks after we figured that much out. It's only happening in the Hetalia reader insert group stuff, so it's obviously one of us.
 No, I'm not saying what they did was right, but I'm not agreeing how we're going about this. Let's just take a step back and see what happens. Lemon writers, save your lemons somewhere on your computer or a flash drive so if it gets deleted, you have it.

Ugh, I swear people can be so immature sometimes. I can understand being angry about having a lemon deleted, cause I've had one deleted myself, but people honestly shouldn't be that surprised about all of this. I've never even taken a close look at all of dA's rules, and even I know that pornographic content as judged by the staff of dA CAN be removed and there isn't much we can do about it. It wasn't even the fact that my lemon was deleted, but the fact that only my newest yuri lemon was reported while all the rest of my lemons were left alone. Though I'm not entirely sure the person who is going around reporting peoples lemons now is the same person who reported mine(I'm still pretty sure the person who reported mine was just a homophobic Spirit Day hating troll).

I agree with you, where the hell did "innocent until proven guilty" go? I mean, how the hell would people even /know/ that ev0net is the one doing all of this? Unless of course they just straight up admitted to it, because otherwise dA doesn't tell you who reported your art for this very reason.

If I was a writer that had my work taken down, I would be deeply dissapointed. Unfortunately, that is also against the rules...so it did come with an automatic risk.

As much as I agree, I also disagree, too. In a way, I understand why people are mad. They worked hard on the lemons and they are being taken down (from my knowledge, they are taken down mostly without a warning). Now, I have one lemon posted, it hasn't been taken down, yet/if at all. But, if it does get reported, sure I'll be mad/upset, but oh well. I have it saved on my laptop, so it wouldn't matter as much.

Now, I signed that petition that someone made simply because whomever is doing this doesn't necessarily have the right to do so. Sure, we (by we, I mean the people who are ranting and accusing) don't have the right to assume anything, either. Though, if they were simply removed because violation, it doesn't fully make sense; seeing as how we are all obviously aware of worse content on DeviantART...

Thank you very much for this. I'm really glad there are other people who were calm and not freaking out. Tgis is pretty much what I tried to tell people. Not about the contest part which I wasn't aware of but that makes complete sense. One of the biggest things is just to cover your butts by pitting the warnings and copyright.
